Other Applications
Activated carbon for solvent recovery, food and beverages, edible oil and other specialty applications.
Other applications include solvent recovery, food and beverages, edible oil and many more specialty purification uses.
Solvent recovery
In many industries like printing, dry cleaning and paint, many types of solvents are vaporized in the course of production. Recovery of these solvents from exhaust air is a good practice to reduce cost and atmospheric pollution. Activated carbon adsorbs the solvent from air and subsequently desorbs by hot steam or inert gas so the condensate can be treated to recover solvent for reuse.
Food and beverages
IndoCarb food grade activated carbon offers a solution for removal of undesired odor and taste of beverages including beer and edible oil. Activated carbons are offered for removal of residual disinfectants such as chlorines, chloramines and chlorinated by-products including THMs, as well as extraction and purification of CO2 generated during brewing.
Grades and outputs
The efficiency of solvent recovery depends on pore structure. IndoCarb offers granular and extruded activated carbons with activity levels for specific solvents, good desorption characteristics, excellent hardness and a wide range of particle sizes. Food grade powder carbon is available in different specifications with iodine adsorption level, methylene blue value and molasses number tailor made for edible oil purification. Specialty impregnated carbons are available when a process requires contaminant-specific chemistry beyond standard adsorption.
