Application Detail

Oil & Gas

Activated carbon for petroleum vapor recovery, H2S removal, condensate polishing and refinery boiler-feed water treatment.

Application overview

IndoCarb offers industry-leading activated carbon products for a wide range of oil and gas industry applications. Activated carbon is used for recovery of valuable products like gasoline vapors, benzene and solvents at petroleum refineries and for removal of hydrogen sulphide gas during oil refining.

Water used as condensate boiler feed in refineries requires very high purification standards.
O&G grade treated activated carbons remove contaminants, de-oil condensate and purify water flow to protect ion exchange resins and sensitive equipment.
O&G grade carbon products are designed for the lowest silica leach and nil ash level in the industry.

Refinery recovery and gas cleanup

Activated carbon is used for recovery of economically valuable products like gasoline vapors, benzene and solvents at petroleum refineries. Activated carbon is also an effective adsorbent for removal of hydrogen sulphide gas during oil refining.

Condensate and boiler-feed water

Water used as condensate boiler feed in refineries requires high purification standards. IndoCarb O&G grade treated activated carbons remove contaminants, de-oil condensate and purify water flow, protecting ion exchange resins and other sensitive equipment from damage and deterioration.

Operating advantages

Silica is a common fouling agent in regular activated carbon products and can damage ion exchange resins, boiler tubes and turbine blades. IndoCarb O&G grade carbon products for boiler feed water treatment are designed to have the lowest silica leach and nil ash level in the industry.

Lowest level of silica leaching
Low ash content and nil dust
No pre-washing of filter beds required
High hardness and attrition resistance
